Every receiver starts somewhere.
Build from here.
Receiver instruction for young athletes learning the game, building confidence, and taking their next step — in flag football and tackle football.
Starting in the Madison, Wisconsin area, we’re developing clinics and workshops with youth leagues, teams, and community programs. Bring the curiosity. We’ll work on the craft.
A place to learn. Room to grow.
Wideout Academy begins with a simple belief: young athletes deserve clear, encouraging instruction that meets them where they are.
Start With the Athlete
A first season of flag football. A move to receiver. A high school player sharpening technique. Each calls for a different starting point.
Instruction is shaped around age, experience, and the goals of the group. Beginners are welcome; curiosity and a willingness to learn belong at every level.
What You Can Build Here
Confidence catching and moving with the ball
An understanding of routes, spacing, and teamwork
Habits that carry from practice into games
For introductory clinics and league workshops, no ranking, recruiting profile, or invitation is needed.
Receiver development that fits your program.
The starting focus is local: practical instruction for Madison-area flag and youth football programs. Formats can be discussed around your players, schedule, facilities, and budget.
Introductory Clinics
A welcoming introduction to catching, footwork, routes, and the fun of playing receiver. Built for athletes who are new to football or new to the position.
Team & League Workshops
Focused sessions that complement your practices, reinforce useful skills, and give coaches shared teaching points to carry forward.
Future Elite Camp
An invitation-only high school experience remains on the roadmap, with advanced instruction and competition for accomplished receivers. Details will be announced as plans develop.
Clear instruction. Purposeful reps. Encouragement.
Good coaching makes a skill understandable, gives athletes a chance to try it, and helps them see what to work on next.
Our approach pairs simple explanations with demonstrations, guided practice, and feedback. The level of detail grows with the athlete. Coaches and guest instructors will be identified for each announced event.
Explain the Skill
Help athletes understand what they are learning and when they can use it.
Make It Visible
Demonstrate movements and break unfamiliar skills into manageable steps.
Practice With Purpose
Build from guided repetitions toward activities that apply the lesson.
Give Useful Feedback
Offer specific coaching points and recognize effort, progress, and teamwork.
Learn the position. Understand the play.
Instruction starts with the fundamentals and adds complexity as athletes are ready. Drills and activities are adapted for age, experience, and flag or tackle football.
Sessions draw from Receiver Institute’s Seven Pillars of receiver development. The focus for each clinic or workshop is selected with the participating program.
Getting Into the Route
Stance, starts, and footwork to begin a route with purpose. More experienced players can build toward release technique and understanding leverage.
Running With Purpose
Learn basic routes, useful spacing, changes of direction, and how to arrive where the quarterback expects.
Catch With Confidence
Build hand positioning and catching habits, then develop tracking, body control, and adjusting to the ball.
Move With the Ball
Practice securing the catch, transitioning upfield, and using balance and direction changes within the rules of the game.
Understand the Game
Learn alignment, communication, timing, and how a receiver’s assignment connects to the rest of the offense.
Put Learning Into Play
Apply skills through games and appropriate challenges that encourage effort, teamwork, and improvement.
Small wins build better receivers.
A cleaner cut. A catch that felt difficult last week. Knowing where to line up without being reminded. Progress gives young athletes a reason to keep learning.
We want players to feel comfortable asking questions, trying a new skill, and supporting their teammates. Boys and girls learning the receiving game are welcome.
Learn It
Understand one useful skill and see how it works.
Try It
Practice with guidance, repetition, and room to make mistakes.
Use It
Bring the lesson into a game, a team practice, or the next session.
A useful addition to your football program.
We’re interested in connecting with Madison-area leagues, teams, schools, and community organizations to shape receiver instruction around the athletes they serve.
A single clinic, a focused workshop during your season, or a series of sessions can be a starting point for discussion. Scope, group size, timing, and pricing are agreed before scheduling.

Receiver Institute Pro

Wideout Academy
Youth foundations, developing receivers, and a future elite high school camp
Start with fundamentals.
Keep the ceiling high.
Our immediate focus is building relationships with local programs and developing youth receiver clinics and workshops in the Madison area.
The longer-term vision includes a selective high school camp that brings accomplished receivers together for deeper instruction and challenging competition.
Local Development
Youth and flag football instruction. Welcoming entry points. Formats shaped with leagues and teams. An emphasis on confidence, fundamentals, and enjoyment.
Future Elite Camp
A planned invitation-only high school experience, with advanced position education and competition. Dates, location, eligibility, and coaching staff will be announced when confirmed.
The local development program has its own purpose: helping young players learn and enjoy the position. Participation does not require pursuing an elite camp.
Let’s build something useful for your players.
You know your program: the players, the schedule, the resources, and the skills that need attention. That is where the conversation starts.
We welcome inquiries from community programs and leagues of all sizes. Share what you have in mind, including your budget, and we can discuss a manageable scope.
Flag Leagues
Help new and returning players develop catching, routes, spacing, and confidence in the passing game.

Explore workshops, shared teaching points, or opportunities to contribute to future sessions.
The next step
starts where you are.
For the athlete learning to catch. The team finding its rhythm. The receiver ready for more. There is value in taking the next step with purpose.
